You sent in a rental application. Here is what happens next.
One-line goal
Know what to expect after you apply, so the wait is less stressful.
Before you start
- You do not need a Wealtharu account to apply. You can fill in and send a rental application without signing up.
- Keep the confirmation you got after you applied. It has the link to check your status.
Steps
- Check your application status. Open the link from your confirmation, or the status page the landlord shared. It shows where your application is, such as received, in review, or decided.
- Watch for a screening request. Screening is a background and credit check that landlords use to confirm you can rent the place. You will be asked for your consent first, so nothing is checked without your okay.
- Reply to any follow-up. The landlord may ask for a document or a detail. Sending it quickly keeps things moving.
What happens next
- If you are approved, the landlord prepares a lease for you to review and sign online. You will usually be asked for a deposit too. Read the lease before you sign, and ask questions if anything is unclear.
- Timelines are up to the landlord. Wealtharu does not set a fixed wait. Some landlords decide in a day, others take longer, especially if several people applied.
Troubleshooting
- I did not get a confirmation. Check your spam or junk folder first. If it is not there, the email may have a typo, so reach out to the landlord and ask them to resend it or confirm they got your application.
- I need to update my information. If you spotted a mistake, contact the landlord and ask them to update it or to let you reapply. You do not need an account to do this.
