Delete your Wealtharu account
# Delete your Wealtharu account
You can delete your own account from Settings. Nothing is removed straight away, and you get 14 days to change your mind.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account is not the same thing as deleting every account you can see. The screen names each one and tells you which is which before you confirm.
- An account you own on your own is deleted, with everything in it. That means properties, units, leases, tenants, documents, messages, and financial records.
- An account someone else also owns, or one you are only a member of, keeps existing. Only your access to it is removed. Nobody else loses anything.
- A paid plan on an account being deleted is cancelled at the same time. Your plan stays active until the deletion goes ahead, so if you want to stop paying sooner, cancel it from the billing page first.
Export your records first
We do not keep a copy for you after the deletion. Tax records often have to be kept for years, so request a data export from Settings and wait for the emailed link before you start. The export is a zip of CSV and JSON files covering your portfolio.
How to do it
- Go to Settings, then Delete your account.
- Read what happens to each account listed.
- Confirm it is you. Type your password, or use the emailed confirmation link if you sign in with Google or with a sign-in link.
- Type your own email address exactly, then choose Delete my account.
We email you the date it will happen, and again a few days before.
How to stop it
Sign in any time before that date, go to Settings, then Delete your account, and choose Keep my account. Everything is exactly where you left it, because nothing has been removed yet.
If it will not let you
The screen explains the reason rather than hiding the button. There are three:
- You are a platform administrator. Ask another administrator to remove that role first.
- You are using the read-only demo. The demo is shared, so it cannot be deleted. Create your own account to try this.
- You hold an ownership share in an account that will keep existing. That share drives the owner statements and the capital-cost records for that account, so it has to be reassigned to another owner before you can go. Ask that account's owner to reassign it, then come back.
On the phone app
The Wealtharu app has a Delete your account item under More. It opens this same page inside the app, already signed in as you, so there is no signing in again. You still confirm the same way, including the link we email you. There is one deletion flow, not two.
