For property managers

Remove someone from your team

When someone leaves, take them off the account so they lose access straight away.

One-line goal

End a teammate's access to your account.

Before you start

  • Only the account owner can remove someone.
  • Removing a person does not delete their work. Expenses they entered, payments they approved, and notes they wrote stay on the account, still recorded under their name.
  • If they still have an invitation waiting, removing them cancels it too, so an old email link cannot let them back in.

Steps

  1. Go to Team. Open Team from the menu.
  2. Find them under "People on this account." This lists everyone who has accepted an invitation, with the role or roles they hold.
  3. Tap Remove on their row.
  4. Confirm. You are asked to confirm, with their email shown so you know you have the right person. Tap Yes, remove.
  5. Check the list. Their row is gone. They are signed out and cannot get back in.

What happens next

  • They lose access to every property, tenant, and money surface on your account.
  • Any open session they had stops working within about half a minute.
  • Their property assignments are cleared, so re-inviting them later starts from a clean slate. If you re-invite them, set their property access again.
  • A record of the removal is kept, including who removed them.

Troubleshooting

  • "You cannot remove yourself from your own account." You are looking at your own row. Ask another account owner to remove you if you are leaving.
  • "This is the only account owner. Add another owner first, then remove this one." Every account needs at least one owner, otherwise nobody could administer it. Invite another owner, wait for them to accept, then remove the old one.
  • "This owner holds a share in one or more properties..." This person is recorded as owning part of a property. Their share drives how income and expenses split between co-owners, and it feeds their tax figures, so we do not remove it for you. Reassign the ownership share on each property first, then remove them.
  • There is no Remove button on their row. That row shows the reason instead. Read it, handle what it asks for, and the button comes back.
  • I removed the wrong person. Invite them again from the same page. Their history was never deleted, but their property access was, so set that again when they accept.
